This is the kind of photo you get when you keep your eyes on the road and point your phone in the general direction you want to take a photo. Another pic in the replies because mobile.

nice keep your eyes on the road photo, sometimes its better to take a video, move the phone more, and then later you pause the video and take a screenshot or something

I wanted to do that, but I wasn't familiar enough with the new OS to switch to video quick enough.

Wow, it's kind of stunning to see on the road.

It was. I got a really good look at it, unfortunately my camera did not.

So are these officially for sale to the public then, or was this one of those rare testing spottings?

I don't think it was being tested, it didn't have any sensors or camo. Usually they at least take the badges off when it's a test vehicle. It had California plates and a registration sticker. So I guess they're for sale?

It actually doesn't look like crap on the road. I didn't expect it to be this decent looking!

This car and the XL1 look like nothing else on the road. Wow.

Yep, I have an Abarth. Bird has some great pictures of it from our Thanksgiving drive here: http://oppositelock.jalopnik.com/thanksgiving-d…

heh - yeah, that's how i "guessed." i must confess i was trolling for a " how could you tell just by the dash vents?!? " but i do dig the Abarth. i was jogging in my neighborhood recently and heard a car start nearby, the exhaust song immediately catching my attention. i wondered what it could be as i neared. an E36 M3? modified S2000? then the Abarth came into view and i was pleasantly surprised.
that was a good set of your turkey day drive. i'll add that road to my list of local ' spirited driving ' mountain roads. my old favorites are both Big and Little Tunjunga Canyon Road.
